Delegates from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam participated in this 3 day workshop held from the 12 to 14 of August 2008 in Male. The Workshop was organized jointly by the Ministry of Environment of Maldives and the ecbi. The aim of the workshop is to build sustained capacity in support of international climate change negotiations. The Regional workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Abdullahi Majeed, Deputy Minister of Environment of Maldives. In the opening remarks he highlighted the importance of the workshop in climate negotiations, especially the most vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change, namely for Least Developed Countries (LDC) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
